QUAIL
DID YOU KNOW? Quail originally comes from Asia or Africa. There are many species, but those known for their meat are the Japanese quail and the domestic quail.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Average purchase weight ranges from 0.8 kg to 1 kg per package of six quails.
- Two to three quails per person for a main course, or one for an appetizer
- Sold fresh or frozen
- Available in Quebec at Provigo and Loblaws
FEATURES
- The meat is delicate and lean.
- Quails can vary in weight. Boneless quail can weigh from 100 g to 110 g each, whereas jumbo quails can weigh from 140 g to 160 g each.
- Quail is exquisitely tender and simple to prepare.
